Quality Assurance Policy

The Special Account for Research Funds (UoWM ELKE) claims, acquires, develops, monitors and manages self-financed and co-financed Research Projects on behalf of the University of Western Macedonia and allocates the corresponding Research Funds.

ELKE is committed to ensuring the highest service quality by implementing a Quality Management System, in accordance with the requirements of the International Standard ISO: 9001: 2015 (EU decision 347 / 29-7-2020).

Service Quality is accomplished by:

  • reducing research project approval and development time
  • maximising the number of research projects
  • maximising the available Research Funds
  • reducing operating costs
  • minimising management problems
  • ensuring legal operation

To achieve the above objectives, ELKE is committed to the implementation, operation, control, and continuous improvement of the Quality Management System, by means of approved Procedures and Guidelines.

ELKE has assigned specific roles and responsibilities to competent staff, who are regularly kept updated and trained, and, thus, acquire the necessary know-how to achieve the objectives.

ELKE is committed to acquiring and allocating the relevant resources for Management operation and objective achievement and conducts an objective Suppliers’ evaluation.

In addition, ELKE runs risk assessment procedures to identify, evaluate and manage service quality performance, using appropriate methods and annual reviews.

Management System performance is controlled by Internal Audits, and results are evaluated in an annual Quality Management System Review. Procedure and/or objective deviations are addressed via corrective action.

This Policy is reviewed on an annual basis in terms of suitability and applicability.
